The future of the Endurance Road Rally Championship
It is with deep sadness that the Endurance Road Rally Championship committee announces that there will not be a championship in 2016.
With fewer competitors, many events are no longer viable and this, coupled with the high forestry costs for endurance rallying and the rise of targa rallies, has brought the committee to the tough decision that despite our best efforts, the championship is no longer sustainable. This may not be the end of the story, but for the current committee it’s the right time to call it a day.
The committee would like to thank every club and organising team that’s supported the ERRC over the years, as well as every rally official, marshal, landowner and venue. Without your time, effort and expertise, there would never have been a championship.
Thank you also to REIS, Rally Preparation Services and The Rover Centre, our generous sponsors. Most of all, we’d like to express our gratitude to the championship’s title sponsor, Sportway Tyres, which is still holding stock for endurance road rallying – please contact Andy and Donna directly.
We’re also very grateful to Andy Manston of M&H Photography for capturing many memorable moments.
And last but by no means least, a huge thank you to every single driver and navigator who’s competed on any of our rallies. Thank you for supporting the championship and we hope you had a fantastic time.
