E.R.R. Championship News
Lots of New Names Registered for the Championship
There are quite a few regulars missing from the latest list of registered competitors. The good news is that there are also lots of new names there – welcome to all of you.
Here is a plea to all of you who are planning on Registering at the start of the Gt. Bustard. Of course, you will still be able to register at signing on – but please spare a thought for the Organisers who have to process your form(s), issue cards and keep smiling. The Championship Organisers are also the Clerks of Course for the Gt. Bustard and will no doubt be rather busy on the Saturday morning.
Please download the Registration Forms >> HERE ...and post them off well before your first event.

ERRC - Fire Extinguishers
Clarification of ERRC regulation A.4 SAFETY EQUIPMENT
The new approved extinguishant ZERO 2000 is now available in hand held extinguishers as an alternative to AFFF. Either material is acceptable for hand held extinguishers used in Endurance Rally Cars, therefore lines 2 to 5 of ERRC regulation A.4 are deleted and replaced by...
“An AFFF or ZERO 2000 fire extinguisher of at least 1.75 litres. This must be within easy reach of both occupants inside the car and be securely mounted in quick release brackets bolted to the car. If a plumbed-in system is fitted, an additional hand-held extinguisher, as above, must also be fitted.”
Existing compliant extinguishers are NOT rendered obsolete by this change.

Registrations Arriving
Completed registration Forms for 2010 are now arriving with the organisers.
The first one to be opened comes from Suze Endean of Tilbury. Suze is well known to many regular Endurance crews and has been associated with various forms of Motor Sport for some time. She has recently started driving in events – no doubt spurred on by her new husband Matt Endean. Mrs Endean may be a Novice but we are sure she will quickly move up the ranks – if only to prove a point to hubby. This could become quite a family battle.
What about tyres for 2010?
Following the successful tests, the championship recommend the Sportway R1 or R1+ tyre for the 2010 season. Obtainable from Sportway Tyres
Competitors may also use any tyre in list 4 section L of the MSA Competitors’ Yearbook. However, competitors should be aware that the Silverstone S505 (buffed, marked Lombard) may not be allowed on all events due to risk of damage to roads. Checks will be made at scrutineering to ensure that these tyres are buffed to the approved profile and carry the correct marking. You are strongly advised to check with event organisers before committing to this tyre.
New Sportway Endurance Tyre Tested – November 2009
Many competitors considered they had an abnormally high number of punctures when using the Sportway R1 tyre during 2009. In an attempt to resolve this Sportway have modified the moulds so that they can accommodate stronger reinforced van carcasses whilst retaining the original tread pattern. The company supplied some of these new tyres for evaluation.
On 28th November 2009 a comprehensive test was carried out at Worthy Farm – renowned for its punctures on the 2009 Great Bustard. Dave Smith, Mike Turner and Paul Heal supplied their Endurance Rovers and they were joined by Owen & Jamie Turner, Martin Clark and Matt Fowle who all did some of the driving.
